JIL File Parser

JIL File Parser - Photo by Mika Baumeister

Our JIL File Parser reads job information from an Autosys JIL text file, and creates a comma-separated text file (extension *.csv) with one row per job, that can then be opened in Microsoft Excel for filtering and sorting.  This is a much better way to visualize your jobs attributes!

If you modify job attributes in this file in Excel, our Parser also allows for the reverse conversion from CSV to JIL text, that you can then re-import back into Autosys.  This makes massive job changes much easier and faster!

What Makes This Parser Different

  • When converting from CSV back to JIL, it makes sure the jobs and boxes are listed in logical sequence (if job B depends on job A, job A is listed first), to avoid Autosys rejecting an instruction because a dependency does not exist yet
  • It is supported by New Software Source and it is risk-free!

How to Use

You just need to 1) Select the JIL / Text file you want to convert to CSV;  2) Specify the name and location of the CSV file you want to create;  and 3) Click the button to convert from JIL to CSV:

If you modify the CSV file using Excel, and you want to create a corresponding JIL file reflecting the changes, you follow the same steps 1) and 2) above, and then click on the other button, to create a JIL file from the CSV.
